Frequently Asked Questions - Surgery Center

The RVUC Surgery Center performs surgery Monday through Thursday BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  If you are looking to schedule a procedure please fill out and submit our Surgery Referral Form.

We DO NOT offer payment plans, but we do accept cash, credit, Care Credit and ScratchPay.  

Some patients will require hospitalization after surgery for IV fluids and medications.  We are able to provide that care but please note that WE DO NOT HAVE 24 HOUR STAFF.  There will be a period of time overnight that your pet is alone.  We WILL NOT leave any animal that is unstable unattended.  If that is the case, we may be able to arrange for overnight care at our facility or you have the option to transfer your pet to a 24-hour facility at your cost.  

If you are uncomfortable with your pet possibly staying alone at night, you may want to consider another facility.  

The surgery center is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!  If you are interested in scheduling a surgery, please fill out and submit our Surgery Referral Form and a veterinary technician will contact you to discuss the procedure.  

No.  In order to keep costs down, save time and help as many pets as we can, our veterinarians will spend their time working on your pet.  There are only a few exceptions in which a veterinarian will be contacting you and those would be due to a complication with surgery or biopsy results.  

Please make sure your pet does not eat anything after 10:00 PM the evening before, but it is okay to give water on the morning of your appointment. If your pet is 5 pounds or under, please give a small snack (3 pieces of dry food or 1 tsp of wet food) in the morning to prevent low blood sugar.

We CANNOT GUARANTEE surgical services after hours and/or weekends. However, if the need arises please contact us by phone (610-224-7874) or by filling out and submitting our Surgery Referral Form.  If we can get a surgical team together we would be more than happy to help.  There will be a $300 emergency fee for after hours on weekdays and a $600 emergency fee for weekends added to the surgery cost.   

Our doctors and staff are educated, talented, dedicated and passionate about what they do.  Our staff will guide you through everything from scheduling, drop off and instructions at discharge.  We have a process and procedures in place to allow us to give your pet the best possible care.
